Urban photography speaks a lot about the standards of living of people, how they make ends meet, as well as their attitudes towards life.
Just one look at the type of roof they have over their heads and you can imagine how they barely sleep during rainy season.
On the roads are countless number of trucks transporting goods to be sold to bigger cities.
Since this district is rich in natural resources such as palm trees, the breadwinners of this particular city depend largely on them to make a living.
Such old buildings with no windows are some of the common scenes in the area. Owned by “top” people, the houses are designed specially to breed swiftlets which produce edible nests. This is a huge source of income!
Cheers,
Tania
This is a fascinating insight into urban life where you are. Are your photos taken in Indonesia?
Hey, Ad.
Yes, they were all taken in a town in North Sumatra of Indonesia. :)
Anyway, thank you very much for stopping by :D
My father was born and brought up very close to Sumatra I think, in a place called Penang. I have many relatives in Jakarta.
